Early Childhood - Learn and Grow through Play
At Little Champs, we provide a play-based, interest-focused programme where children experience hands-on activities to enhance their physical, social, emotional, language, cognitive and creative areas of development. We are committed to providing an educational programme which allows for children to grow at their own pace, with the support and help from our Early Childhood Educators. As children learn differently at each stage of development, we ensure all our children feel welcomed and confident in their spaces.
Routines are an important part of a young child’s day but we must remain flexible enough to take into consideration each child’s particular needs at the time. With this in mind each of our classes has implemented a flexible daily routine that provides children with the opportunity to take part in a range of experiences both planned and spontaneous. School Readiness
Our School Readiness Programme was designed for our Kindergarten children, with the aim of giving children all of the social-emotional, physical and intellectual skills required to easily join their respective primary schools in the coming years.
Our curriculum and programmes are based on the principles of the 6 key learning outcomes of the Nurturing Early Learners Framework (NELF). Each day all educators strive to provide the children with a range of learning experiences and activities to foster their learning in all developmental domains. These include: Aesthetics & Creative Expression, Discovery of the World, Language & Literacy, Motor Skills Development, Numeracy and Social & Emotional Development. The programme is derived from the observations taken as well as the children’s interests.
All children are encouraged to have a rest after lunch. Halfway through the year, with Primary School Term approaching, this rest period is replaced with a quiet time for our Kindergarten 2 children to better prepare them for the demands of school.
Our education offers our children opportunities to develop their potential so that when they step out into the world, they can be engaged, competent, responsible and respectful citizens with an understanding and appreciation that learning is for life.
